    Male Reproductive System

The male reproductive system is responsible for the production, storage and delivery of the male gametes. It consists of the testes (gamete production), a system of ducts (gamete maturation and passage to the exterior) and several associated glands (provide fluid medium for transport and nourishment of the gametes).

    Learning Objectives:

    • Recognize and understand the structure of the testis under the light microscope.
    • Understand the process of spermatogenesis and recognize the major stages of this process.
    • Understand the functions and structural features of the major regions of the male reproductive ducts.
    • Recognize and know the function of the seminal vesicles and prostate gland.
    • Recognize structures in the penis and understand how these structures contribute to its function

    We start with the testis.
