Human Tissue Biology A464
The
male reproductive system is responsible for the production, storage
and delivery of the male gametes. It consists of the testes (gamete
production), a system of ducts (gamete maturation and passage to the
exterior) and several associated glands (provide fluid medium for
transport and nourishment of the gametes).
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize and understand the
structure of the testis under the light microscope.
- Understand the process of
spermatogenesis and recognize the major stages of this process.
- Understand the functions and
structural features of the major regions of the male
reproductive ducts.
- Recognize and know the function
of the seminal vesicles and prostate gland.
- Recognize structures in the
penis and understand how these structures contribute to its
function
We start with the testis. |
