these labs don't seem to help matters much. But they do represent a baseline.

Maybe Mr. Martin is just full
of crap. Suppose he's doing something to himself to make the skin lesions

But then he does have a fever.

Looking for antibodies to a
bug we can't culture may not be helpful right now since enough time hasn't
passed to develop a titer that can be measured.
What other options are there?
This guy might have something like Lyme disease which can lead to serious
problems.
