Mr. Raymond's chest pain certainly must be cardiac in nature.
  • Compelling family history for coronary atherosclerosis.
  • Smoking history.
  • Chest pain fits.
  • Lousy total cholesterol.
  • Fortuitous EKG at the time of pain recurrence.
  • Relief with nitroglycerin.
Questions to be answered:
  • Why is the pain non-exertional? Angina is supposed to be isn't it?
  • What's the breakdown on his cholesterol?
  • What are his coronaries like?
We'll send blood to the lab for HDL and VLDL cholesterol, but this isn't urgent.

Right now knowing whether one of his coronaries is about to occlude is most important.  Emergency angiogram?
