The good news is that Mr. Raymond did not kick the bucket or have a myocardial infarction while in the emergency room.
  • He had coronary bypass surgery two days after coming to the emergency room and was discharged on the sixth post operative day.
  • He is on diet plus medication for his high cholesterol. He's due to have his levels checked again in two weeks.
  • He is given up smoking, in part thanks to a nicotine patch, and is only occasionally a jerk when the craving gets the better of him. He is motivated.
  • He is starting to exercise and hopes to lose 20 pounds.
  • As for his two sons, one had a cholesterol of 156 mg/dL and the other 357 mg/dL. It's a good thing we looked, the affected child is about to start therapy for his condition.
