The short answer is no, nothing else but gastroscopy.

In years past we would have done an upper GI X-Ray series with contrast, but not now.  X-Ray will often show an ulcer or tumor, but then a biopsy will be called for.  In a situation such as this, go for the gold.

People who are throwing up blood generally don't take much convincing. Mr. Jones agrees to the procedure.
