Mr.
Harvey is a 61 year old man brought to the emergency room by ambulance.

He has had flu like symptoms
for several days, but suddenly collapsed at home and had, what his
wife described as, a seizure.
-
When the ambulance medics arrived
he
was groggy, disoriented and diaphoretic.
-
His wife had, with some difficulty,
gotten him to take several swallows of orange juice.
-
Paramedics drew several tubes
of blood and then administered dextrose per IV. He promptly woke
up.
-
His blood pressure at the scene
was 142/86 mmHg and his pulse was 92 and regular.
-
He complained of no chest
pain.
-
Being frightened by the
episode, he readily agreed to go to the emergency room for further evaluation.
