Mr. Stein's clinical situation improved dramatically after his sphincterotomy and release of the impacted stone.
  • The pain, nausea and scleral icterus are gone. 
  • His labs are improving, but things are not normal yet.
  • The surgeon has reviewed his case, talked with him, and they've decided the gallbladder goes.
  • His surgery will have to wait until his pancreas cools off,  several weeks in all likelihood.
  • His fasting blood sugars have not been elevated, so hopefully his pancreas is still in good shape. Time will tell.
