vessels in the dermis. The amyloid deposits will be in the walls.
See this slide with the
virtual microscope. |

This slide is stained
with congo red stain, a dye that binds to the amyloid protein. Look in
the vessel walls of the dermis for this fibrillary orange staining material.
You won't see it to any great extent in the general connective tissue of
the dermis. |
