Things have taken a turn for Mr. Conrad.
  • Two weeks ago he started treatment with alkylating agents.
  • His M protein began to drop, but so did his white count.
  • Two days ago he was admitted through the ER with a high fever and cough.
  • He was placed on antibiotic therapy for Streptococcal pneumonia.
  • Unfortunately no one was watching his fluid intake closely and he became dehydrated.
  • Now his renal output has dropped to practically nothing.
  • He has developed ARF secondary to myeloma kidney.
  • Now because of his renal failure, he's retaining fluid and appears to be in CHF along with his pneumonia.

Two days later.                                                             Back
