Much of the information we have supports the assertion that Mr. Weiser's liver is sick.
  • History: Alcohol intake, easy of bruising, confusion. The abdominal pain and vomiting, however, still points to something with the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Physical: Icterus, spider angiomas, palpable spleen, possible fluid wave of the abdomen.
  • Abdominal CT: "Ratty" looking liver and enlarged spleen. (Why is the spleen enlarged?)
  • Lab values:
    • Anemia (Why is it macrocytic?)
    • Enzymes indicate both parenchymal and biliary disease.
    • Bilirubin (conjugated vs unconjugated?)
    • Clotting studies
    • Serum albumen
