Just looking at this
slide, it's easy to understand how functionless it must have been.
I think it's easy to see the extensive parenchymal deposition of the amyloid
protein. That's what you're looking for.

Not much to add to the
picture. The amyloid material is diffusely spread throughout the splenic
parenchyma. You might want to compare this slide to a normal spleen to
see how involved it is. Take this time to consider all the places you can
see amyloid accumulate. What are the basic forms of amyloidosis? |
