    Slide 223: PAP Smear, cervical dysplasia 
     
    The clusters of dysplastic cells are fairly numerous although you will need to search for them. You will see many normal squamous epithelial cells with small, point-like, central nuclei. The dysplastic cells have a large nucleus with irregular nuclear borders and irregular nuclear clumping.

    Here you can see the nuclear atypia of the dysplatic cells. Large and immature appearing nuclei, irregular nuclear borders and clumping of the DNA.
