of the needle aspiration.

Following cleansing of the skin
overlying the mass, a 21 gauge needle was passed into the lesion and small
amount of fluid aspirated into a syringe.

After the procedure, the mass
was still present.

Smears were made and stained.
The pathologist calls to tell
us what she sees in the smears.

A mixture of cells consistent
with lymph node origin.
-
Reactive and "atypical"
appearing lymphocytes
-
Plasma cells
-
A few eosinophils and
-
A suspicious cell with
a bilobed nucleus.
