The story so far
- He tires easily and has diminished endurance.
- Does not actually become short
of breath.
- His family history is not greatly helpful
apart from a grandfather who Mr. Herbert believes died of a “bowel obstruction.”
- Physical exam reveals pale mucous
membranes.
- His liver is mildly enlarged but non-tender.
- He has a slightly enlarged prostate
gland, but no nodularity.
- There were no rectal tumors to digital
exam.
- He has had consistently positive
stools for occult blood.
- And, importantly, he has lost 15 pounds
without trying to.
