are three basic parts of a urinalysis.

Visual inspection.

Color, clarity, even smell (ketones
smell fruity).

Keep in mind that color and
clarity can change dramatically depending on your state of hydration and
urine concentration.

The dipstick reactions (varies
a bit from company to company).

protein

albumin

pH

glucose

ketones

blood

bilirubin
-
some measurement of WBCs and/or
bacterial enzymes

Microscopic examination of the
urine sediment.

Looking for casts
