Summary of Ms. Anderson's history and exam.
  • She is young, which makes a benign lesion more likely.
  • Possible family history of breast cancer.
  • Solitary 1-2 cm mass of her right breast, upper outer quadrant.
  • Mass is non-tender. Suggesting it is not inflammatory.
  • Lesion appeared to freely movable rather than "fixed."
  • No obvious skin changes over the lesion.
  • No nipple discharge.
  • No axillary masses.
Just about the only thing we can rule out now is an abscess.
