It's hard to imagine this valve could have
been working at all. Note how incredibaly thickened it is, including the once
little delicate chordea tendinea. Recall we are looking at type II hypersensitivity reaction. One that a person may develop more than once. See this slide with the virtual microscope. |

Here the scar tissue is quite evident, and even little calcium deposits are found in the valve matrix. |
