What happens now?  In fact, it's going to take a few days for his biliary tree to decompress and for his pancreas to come back to some state of normalcy. 
  • Getting the surgeon's opinion and moving ahead with a cholecystectomy at the right time makes good sense.
  • Today, these procedures are done by peritonoscopy, with a minimum of discomfort and much shortened hospital stay.
  • Besides, we now have a better idea of what's going on with Mr. Stein.
