    Slide 120: Lung with lobar pneumonia
     
     
    This slide is pretty straight forward. Lots of polys, all in the alveolar spaces. Unlike slide 58, the bug is not causing the destruction of the pulmonary tissue itself. What's the likely bug in this case?

    Compare this slide with the case of interstitial pneumonia (slide 172) and the necrotizing pneumonia of slide 58. One is a response to a virus and the other to a very aggressive bacteria.

    In this slide, however,  we see the infiltrate in the alveolar spaces and the inflammatory response is that expected against a bacteria (lots of polys).
