The story so far
  • Mr. Phillips has metastatic malignant melanoma to 2 (of 8) axillary lymph nodes.
  • It appears the primary was removed but discarded with no pathology review.
  • His neurological exam is normal, so no head CT is called for.
  • His chest and abdominal CTs do not reveal evidence of systemic metastases.
  • His blood work is non-contributory.
What now?
  • Waiting and seeing.
  • Periodic evaluations for evidence of systemic disease.
  • Chemotherapy and/or immune stimulators are used only with proven systemic disease.
