Nevus Microscopic    Junctional nevus Compound nevus Small, rounded-up, (non-dendritic) melanocytes. Grouped in clusters or "nests." With the compound nevus, i.e. those that have some dermal component, the individual nevus cells show maturation from surface to base. That is to say the cells become more compact, the deeper in the dermis we look.
