Histology is the microscopic study of cells
and tissues. It is one of the disciplines that teaches us how the
organs of the body work, renew and repair themselves. A good
understanding of our microfabric is central to practically every form
of biological research, and certainly a necessity for those wanting to
become physicians.
The starting place is knowing how to
effectively use the light microscope. Even though the electronic world
is changing many aspects of the study of histology, the microscope
remains the workhorse in most biological research labs, and
will certainly be so in this course.
Even though almost all of the slides studied in this
course will be available for review as digital images, knowing how to
use your light microscope, and not looking like a jerk in front of your
friends, is priceless.
Please don't leave anything out,
I don't want to look like a jerk. |
