Gastritis, Ulcer and Carcinoma These are the more likely posibilites. Gastritis and ulcer are certainly sources of pain and bleeding, however, carcinoma is not as likely to casue the kind of pain Mr. Jones complains of. Serious and potentially threatening hemorrhage is most likley from an ulcer, especially if it has eroded into wall of the of stomach or duodenum. As before, gastroscopy is what's needed.
