Just when you thought we were there, the differential grew.
  • HIV disease we should be able to rule out with another lab test.  (Her HIV is negative.)
  • We already have a negative RPR, so there goes syphilis.
  • The ANA is negative, pretty much ruling out CNS-SLE.
What's the one thing that will bail us out? The patient's history.
  • Lesions dispersed in space and time.
  • Exacerbated by exposure to heat.
  • Periods of remission.
