Maybe
we should define some terms. There are "cholesterol" stones, and
then there are stones formed purely of cholesterol.

Common variety gallstones
contain lots of cholesterol in combination with bile salts.

Rarely we will see a
stone that is almost jewel like. Translucent and golden yellow, composed
almost purely of cholesterol.

Even though we talk about
someone having a "cholesterol" gallstone, odds are we really
mean the common variety combination stone.
This just gets better and
better, don't spare me anything!
