Everything points to rheumatoid arthritis.
  • History and physical
    • Morning stiffness of hands.
    • Small joints of hands and wrists, especially M-P joints.
    • Relapsing course.
    • Malaise, ease of fatigue.
    • Swollen and endurated tissue around the M-P joints
  • Lab and X-Ray
    • Highly suggestive X-Ray of M-P joints
    • Low grade normocytic, normochromic anemia.
    • Mild, nonspecific elevation of WBC count
    • Elevated total protein, but slightly decreased albumin (says there is an elevation of gamma globulin fraction).
    • Elevated ESR
    • Elevated rheumatoid factor.
