example of post necrotic cirrhosis secondary to fulminate viral hepatitis,
although prolonged toxic exposure (possibly alcohol) could also result
in this degree of damage. Grossly, the liver would be shrunken, have a
profound nodular pattern with many nodules of varying size throughout (hobnails),
and may even show large bands of scar tissue creating a lobulated or septate
pattern.
