Spread of Hodgkin Disease
  • Unlike non-Hodgkin lymphomas, Hodgkin Disease spreads locally to contiguous lymph nodes first.
    • Distant spread tends to develop late in the disease.
  • The spread of HD is very predictable.
  • Staging (determining the extent of spread) is critical.
    • The stage determines the therapy.
    • Limited disease can be cured with local radiotherapy
