What is meant by the term "shaken baby syndrome?"
Whiplash or rotatory CNS injury.

Rarely occurs as an isolated injury.

Often there is blunt force injury
somewhere on the child as well.

Unconscious child.

Clinical evidence of cerebral
edema.

May have subdural hematoma.
