A very special thank you
goes to
Dr. Ann Carmichael of the Department of History here on the
Bloomington campus. Dr. Carmichael is unique among medical historians
in that she holds both an MD degree and a PhD. She was a wonderful
resource as well as a source of inspiration during the planning
phase of this course. I hesitate to think what M470 would be like
had it not been for Dr. Carmichael's input. |

Celestina Wroth, Indiana
University history librarian, was immensely helpful in
tracking down the online historical resources used in this course.
Thanks to her efforts, it's possible for students to review copies
of original documents created by by those who were on the scene
during the early days of colonization of the New World. |

Dr. Tom Hrisomalos, an
infectious disease specialist with Internal Medicine Associates,
is a gifted and creative faculty member of the Indiana University
School of Medicine. He has been very supportive, a great resource
and he has even contributed two of the PowerPoint tutorials
(smallpox and influenza). Thank you Tom! |
