not some third world country. We’ve got worms here too.
Look in the stool in the lumen of the appendix and you’ll see the worm (perhaps
more than one) in section.

Sure, these can cause obstruction of the
lumen, thereby producing an acute appendicitis. Most times they’re incidental
(to say nothing of surprising) findings.
