Clinical course of Hodgkin Disease.
- Most present with painless
enlargement of a lymph node.
- Constitutional symptoms
may or may not be present.
- The "A" designation
indicates the absence of symptoms.
- The "B" designation
indicates the presence of symptoms.
Examples
- Weight loss (10% of body
weight)
- Fever
- Night sweats
- Biopsy is required
for diagnosis and classification
- Staging is required
to evaluate extent of spread and therapy.
- Abdominal and chest CT
- Laparotomy if indicated
by CT (liver and lymph node biopsies, possibly splenectomy).
- Bilateral iliac crest
bone marrow aspirates with biopsy.
