It's been two weeks and things are on track.
  • Mrs. Talbott has started radiation therapy, and is tolerating it.
  • She's on iron and vitamin C (helps with iron absorption).
    • It hasn't been long enough to see much change in her CBC, but we know her reticulocyte count is rising, so it's working..
  • She is experiencing quite a bit of nausea, but dealing with it.
    • Oral iron supplement will do this.
    • Clearly the radiation treatments will do this.
    • And, she's pregnant.
  • She has stage IA Hodgkin's , so we are hopeful of a cure.
  • Fortunately, she has a good support network, and is getting help watching her three-year old while she's having therapy.
  • Friends from her church have been bringing by meals.
  • Her oncologist has put her in touch with a support group so she can learn first-hand what to expect from the therapy.
  • Given the possibilities, this is a pretty good outcome.
Let's sum it up .                                                         Back
