Team-Based Learning, Case Development & Assessment

Dr. Dan Lodge-Rigal

Educational research, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

As an educator you will have the privilege, and the responsibility, to share what you've learned. We do this by publishing papers, participating in meetings and presenting posters. Actually, it's a lot of fun.

  • Classroom and online research is not just for the PhD crowd. I'm sure many questions will come to you regarding how the material you create is working. Is it advancing or hindering the cause? How can it be improved? And so on.
    • Keep in mind that every educational research project needs to be reviewed and approved by your institution's human subjects or internal review board. All of them. Even the most trivial must be approved first.
    • Here is the link to Indiana University's human subjects site:
  • Online surveys are easy to do and give valuable information about your TBLs and PBLs.
  • Join those groups - local, national, international - that deal with educational field you're interested in.
