• But several days later, he was so sick, he borrowed the money for the antibiotic from his brother.
• His throat improved rapidly.
• Unfortunately, a month later he began to feel tired,
• developed a fever
• swelling around the eyes
• reddish-brown urine.
• Labs indicated his renal function was only 10% of what it should be.
• Urinalysis showed lots of protein and blood in the urine.

Mr. PF had developed a Type III hypersensitivity glomerulonephritis.

• Eventually his kidneys failed completely. He is now on dialysis and hoping for financial help for a transplant. His insurance doesn't cover that either.
