WBC count and percentages can change dramatically.

necrosis.

mycobacterial infections

myocardial infarction and other
conditions leading to cell death and necrosis.

Malignant or benign proliferative
bone marrow disorders.

Bone marrow failure.

"space occupying" lesions

nutrient deficit

Sequestration or peripheral
destruction.

splenic hypertrophy (Felty's

But keep in mind two important
aspects of CBC interpretation.

Quality (are the cells
healthy) vs quantity (numbers of cells)
