This
website would have never come into being were it not for the support staff
of the Teaching and Learning Technology Laboratory at Indiana University.
I am grateful beyond words to this department and particularly two staff
members: Kathryn Propst and Cordah Robinson. They got me started, kept
me on course, found the little java scripts that make the case studies
so interactive and, just in general, lifted my spirits.
Unlike the first part of
the web site, some of the images used in the clinical cases are not my
own. Although they have been substantially modified for my purposes, the
raw images in a few cases are from the truly massive image bank provided
by the Group for Research In Pathology Education (GRIPE). Others
were modified after charts and images seen in Robbins: Pathologic Basis
of Disease, 6th Edition. In the main, these served as ideas although
a few are direct appropriations. Thanks also goes to Bloomington Hospital.
The staff in the departments of Pathology, Media Services, Cardiology,
Endoscopy and Radiology graciously provided their expertise and many of
the materials used in the clinical exercises.
Obviously, none of this would
have been possible were not for funding provided by Indiana University.
The money, provided in the form of a High Performance Network Grant,
was used to purchase video capture equipment and a server of the capacity
needed to deliver the case studies via the Internet.
Thanks to all. MB |
