Skin conditions observed in the tropics are
similar to those everyone else suffers with, but with a few added wrinkles.
There are three basic categories.
- Common diseases seen throughout the world.
- Psoriasis, warts, urticaria etc
- Common diseases, that may differ or occur
more frequently because of:
- Heat, humidity, malnutrition, lack of appropriate treatments etc.
- Examples include:
- Acne, lupus vulgaris ....
- Skin conditions occurring as a consequence of living in the tropics
- Leishmaniasis, myiasis .......
What are the most common conditions?
- Scabies,
- Insect bites
- Pyoderma
- Dermatitis
