Furious Rabies
- Malaise, fever
- Headache
- Hallucinatons
- Pupillary Dilatation
- Hydrophobia
- Anxiety
- Spasticity
- Covulsions

Paralytic Rabies
- Less distinctive than furious rabies.
- Pain and paraesthesia at site if the
animal bite.
- Paralysis
- Muscle weakness, especially respiratory
muscles.

Treatment
- Thorough wound cleansing.
- Human anti-rabies immune globulin, 20 IU/Kg,
- Half infused at wound site and
- Half injected IM.
- Human diploid cell rabies vaccine, 1.0 ml IM five times
over one month period.
- Once symptoms appear, survivals are rare.
- Kalweo died six days after admission, presumed
cardiac arrhythmia.
A 31 year-old woman is brought to the clinic for
